Let's use Optional Style Files
There are many questions asked about customizing his/her own documents, such as `Need to draw tree diagram', `Want to modify list environment', `Want to use other fonts' etc. Yes! There are many optional style files for them. This Guide Book (in English) introduces such style files and their purposes. A complied dvi file by LATEX is also available and its supplement (only in Japanese) can be obtained there.
This issue only covers LATEX 209, but still there are some needs. If you cannot compile or print these files above, please try to find PDF versions of these documents (in Japanese) at Yamagata University. Mr. Okuyama kindly converted them. I myself also created similar files of the English version recently by dvi2ps and GS; styus-e.ps and styus-e.pdf.
Style files and fonts are available at the subdirectory of style files. While this is the subdirectory of fonts. The latter, however, holds non-standard font files such as `finger arrow' and 'animals'. They are made by converting free PostScript fonts by the program called `ps4mf'.
Other examples can be seen here. Some of these mf, pfm, tfm files are gathered to use with Dviout for Windows and dvipdfm.Contents Previous Next

Differential, Integration, Unit etc.
A symbol d in derivative and integraion must be
written in roman not in math italic.
And some meaningful subscripts such as `cr' in Pcr, or
min and max are also in roman.
In such a case, input as P_{\mbox{\scriptsize cr}}
must be used.
Furthermore the units such as `kg' and `MPa' are in roman.
Examples are shown in the manual () to use
JSCE style files.
